• Magnetic attachment replaces the old rail system: snap-on and securely held by magnets, with a satisfying “click” sound and easy-release button  .
• Slightly larger and more rounded than before, offering a fuller, more comfortable grip—especially for longer play sessions  .

 

 

 

 

▪️Buttons & Controls

• Retains core layout: pressable analog sticks, face buttons (A/B/X/Y on right, D-pad on left), plus SL/SR trigger buttons.
• New “C” button on the right Joy-Con 2 enables instant GameChat access, voice chat, and screen sharing  .
• Larger, more tactile SL/SR buttons improve usability in tabletop or single Joy-Con modes .
• ▪️Mouse Mode :

• Each Joy-Con 2 includes an optical mouse sensor—lay it sideways on a table or lap to emulate mouse movement in compatible games  .
• Early impressions: comfortable and interesting in some contexts, though may cause wrist strain or lack precision depending on the game and surface  .

• HD Rumble 2 brings enhanced vibration feedback, richer than the original Joy-Con  .
• Built-in accelerometers and gyroscopes maintain motion controls, now supplemented with the new mouse sensor  .

• 500 mAh lithium-ion battery per Joy-Con, offering around 20 hours of usage  .
• Charges while attached to the Switch 2 console, in the charging grip, or via official accessories—about 3½ hours to full.
• Wireless connectivity via Bluetooth; the right Joy-Con includes NFC for amiibo support  .
