Nintendo officially released Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 on October 2, 2025, for Nintendo Switch.
The games run at up to 1080p on the standard Switch. On the new Switch 2, a free update enables 4K resolution support.
Features include: motion and stick controls (adapted for Joy-Con), improved UI, additional Storybook content (especially for Rosalina), and an in-game music player.
There is also support for amiibo — scanning them gives small bonuses (e.g. extra health, 1-ups, coins)
On day one there’s a patch (version 1.2.0) with bug fixes and improvements, especially for stability on Switch 2.
